Covance Market Access (CMA) consulting provides a broad suite of services designed to assist our clients in improving patient health by facilitating access to medical innovations. Our Patient reported Outcomes (PRO) team, a division of HEOR within CMA, is rapidly growing due to increased business across Covance’s clinical trial offerings.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Patient Reported Outcomesto manage client engagements, prepare proposals and budgets, direct and oversee the collection and analysis of primary and secondary data and formulate strategic advice for clients, and manage external and internal relationships. The selected candidate will manage a team,and collaborate with managers in other divisions on projects. This position is office based in Gaithersburg, MD but will consider home-based candidates.

The selected candidate will be skilled in development and validation of PRO assessments, direct systematic literature reviews; direct qualitative interviews with patients, physicians, and key opinion leaders; and direct qualitative and quantitative analyses. Additionally, the candidate will supervise PRO Data Collection and Analysis efforts including identifying sources and obtaining information regarding appropriate vendors for PRO data collection and other research sources. Evaluating data using qualitative and/or quantitative methods as necessary to allow appropriate inferences and conclusions to be drawn.

This is an exciting time to join our Health Economics and Outcomes Research team. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical trials and project management. Must be able to handle multiple priorities; good communication skills and have a desire to learn. Prior experience in PRO/HEOR, along with clinical trials software (ECRF, EDC etc.) is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

· Understand Client Requirements: Participates in defining how the assignment will be performed and the deliverables that will be presented by the Firm.

· Prepare Proposals: Reviews and revises draft proposals that respond to client requirements following standard formats used for previous engagements.

· Develops Data, Data Collection Tools and Collection: Works with external and internal parties to develop data collection tools and methods. Identifies sources and obtains information from knowledgeable individuals, reference texts, on-line databases, and other research sources.

· Reviews Summaries: May review and advise on key points, patterns and trends in data.

· Develops Findings and Recommendations: May assist in using information and data to prepare specific findings appropriate to client requirements.

· Interface with Internal Management and Client: May meet with client to review work plan, schedule meetings, describe data sources, explain patterns observed in data, and indicate how findings and recommendations were developed or other purposes.

· Prepare and Present Deliverables: Prepares written memos, budgets, correspondence; may present to clients.

· Evaluate Engagement: Participates in the evaluation of client engagements to review the work plan, budget, consultant contributions, client responses, and the potential for future work.

· Generate Repeat Business: Establishes business relationship with clients and seeks repeat business for the Firm.

· Train and Mentor Staff: Acts as a mentor to less experienced consulting staff, orienting them on firm policies and career development objectives.

· Supports Other Areas: Supports other functions of the firm as needed.

Education/Qualifications

We require a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health Management, Basic Science, Clinical Science, Health Services Research, Health Economics or other relevant discipline and may have also earned a Master’s degree in a similar field along with 5 years of relevant research, strategy, and/or consulting experience at a CRO, consulting firms or similar environment.

Experience

Must have experience managing people; experience in clinical trials;managing projects and handling multiple priorities; and strong communication, organization and analytical skills. Experience in PRO and/or HEOR and software such as ECRF and EDC etc. are preferred. Call center experience may be considered.
