Financial Revenue Recognition Analyst - Controllers Department

Indianapolis, Indiana

Do you have a Finance Degree, 3 years relevant work experience, and outstanding excel skills, knowledge of journal entries and the ability to problem solve? Are you familiar with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software? In this position you will be part of a conversion from a legacy financial system to PeopleSoft FSA supporting a $1 Billion global revenue stream.

Responsibilities of the Financial Revenue Recognition Analyst:

-Performs regular revenue recognition, billing, and period end closing responsibilities.

a. Month end close responsibilities include journal entries, G/L account reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting.

b. Execute the month end billing and invoice generation process, including electronic invoicing to vendor systems.

c. Maintain control standards on manual and one-time special invoicing events through documentation and loading into the financial software.

-Liaise with our domestic and international financial colleagues to ensure proper accounting of intercompany and locally required billing events.

-Work closely with other global functional areas (Global Project Management, Sourcing, Commercial Development and Client Services) to ensure that financial implication of strategic and tactical decisions and policies are identified.

-Develop successful and efficient solutions to client requests for non-standard service offerings, ensuring compliance with company objectives and financial policies, while delivering superior client service.

Education/Qualifications

Minimum Required:

BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of three to four (3-4) years comparable experience.

  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to use and create database and spreadsheet packages. MS Excel proficiency required and MS Access proficiency preferred.

  • Ability to interact with employees of a variety of developmental and socio-cultural backgrounds.

  • Outstanding verbal and written skills with exposure to senior management.

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Prior use of ERP and Operational systems (demonstrated knowledge of database / system connectivity)

  • Ability to understand database structure, system interaction, and transaction flow among disparate systems.
