This is a permanent, full time position based in our Morrisville, NC laboratory.

As a Research Associate/Scientist in Molecular Biologyyou will conduct hands-on laboratory work and data analysis. You will be involved with experimental design, optimization, trouble shooting and validation of novel nucleic acid based biomarker assays.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • DNA and RNA extractions from various biological materials including formalin fixed tissue specimens and whole blood, using manual and automated methods

  • Running of PCR, qPCR, and RT-qPCR instrumentation

  • DNA sequencing by Sanger and NGS methods

  • Use of computer software for experimental design and data analysis

  • Writing and reviewing technical documents such as SOPs and Design Control documents

  • Maintenance of the laboratory in a regulated environment.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline is required with a Master's or PhD preferred (medical diagnostics or oncology preferred)

  • 5+ years hands-on laboratory experience in nucleic acids isolation and analysis

  • Proven expertise and track record in qPCR and/or DNA sequencing and related data analysis

  • Work experience in diagnostics or medical biotechnology industry preferred

  • Experience in regulatory environment such as CLIA, CAP, or IVD environment preferred

  • Experience in liquid biopsy or NGS using Illumina and/or Ion Torrent platforms is a plus
